Greek expatriates and people residing permanently abroad who own real estate property in any of the 107 regions currently under cadastral survey will have to declare it to the Hellenic Cadastre by December 30, 2008. It is noted that the declaration submitted to the cadastre is mandatory for all those owning real estate property in Greece and is not associated with the E9 declaration form.

- Provided the declaration is filled out, signed and submitted by a third party on behalf of the beneficiary, a special authorisation is required with certified signature authenticity by the Embassy / Consulate at their country of residence provided free of charge. - By proxy already authorised by a general or specific proxy document to administer their real estate in Greece.
- By a third party with a simple authorisation. In this case, the declaration should be dispatched by post filled out and signed and must have the necessary documents attached to it. The authorised representative will have to pay the fixed fee to one of the collaborating banks and submit the declaration to the competent Cadastral Survey Office.
- For the first time, the declaration can be submitted through the Internet using a special application that can be found on the Ktimatologio S.A. website www.ktimatologio.gr. In this case, the necessary documents submitted with the declaration are dispatched by post to the competent Cadastral Survey Office and the fixed fee is paid by credit card.
