| Ktimatologio S.A. stands by the Greek Communities abroad | 10/11/2009 |
|
Ktimatologio S.A. initiated a new policy for a closer and more systematic co-operation with the Greek communities abroad by reason of the new cadastral survey programme in 107 regions of Greece. From the beginning of the programme, the company greatly valued the proper provision of information to expatriates; to this end, it planned and implemented a series of actions. At the same time, it pursued cooperation with all parties involved, placing emphasis on coming closer to the “core” of Hellenism, the Greek communities abroad as well as the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE).

| Workshop of UNECE to Improve Land Administration | 02/11/2009 |
|
138 attendees from 28 countries of Europe, North America and Asia took part in the Workshop of the UNECE Working Party on Land Administration, held in Sofia, Bulgaria on April 23-24, 2009. Ktimatologio S.A. was represented by Dr. Dimitris Rokos, Rural Surveying Engineer and Deputy Director of the Projects Department. WPLA is one of the most important international organisations in the field of Cadastre, since it has developed a network of officials in issues of Cadastre and Land Administration both in Europe and North America. Its work both at holding international events and preparing editions / papers is also significant. WPLA mainly focuses in the “evaluation” of cadastres and real estate markets in developing countries in order to provide recommendations for their improvement. This workshop’s main subject was Bulgaria’s Cadastre and specifically, the digitisation of its records and its electronic operation, a project that has been recently completed with the co-financing of the World Bank.
| Hellenic Positioning System – HEPOS | 28/10/2009 |
|
The Hellenic Positioning System HEPOS is a truly pioneering infrastructure projectthat was developed by Ktimatologio S.A. in the context of the
“Information Society” Operational Programme of CSFIII with co-financing
by the European Commission. HEPOS is a system providing highly accurate positioningservices, utilising the existing satellite Global Positioning System (GPS). Thus, homogenous and accurate surveying measurements are achieved throughout the country in a faster and more cost-effective manner. HEPOS was developed by Ktimatologio S.A. to cover the needs that arose for the development of the Hellenic Cadastre in the years to come; yet, it can also provide numerous other applications valuable to the fields of Surveying, Geodesy, Mapping, and Technical Constructions, where an accuracy of a few centimetres is needed. Consequently, HEPOS is useful to a wide range of bodies, like Public Services and Organisations, Surveying Engineers and in general professionals dealing with geoinformation, private-consulting engineers and project constructors, academic and research institutions, etc.
