The Hellenic Positioning System HEPOS is a truly pioneering infrastructure project that was developed by Ktimatologio S.A. in the context of the “Information Society” Operational Programme of CSFIII with co-financing by the European Commission. 
 
HEPOS is a system providing highly accurate positioning services, utilising the existing satellite Global Positioning System (GPS). Thus, homogenous and accurate surveying measurements are achieved throughout the country in a faster and more cost-effective manner.

HEPOS was developed by Ktimatologio S.A. to cover the needs that arose for the development of the Hellenic Cadastre in the years to come; yet, it can also provide numerous other applications valuable to the fields of Surveying, Geodesy, Mapping, and Technical Constructions, where an accuracy of a few centimetres is needed. Consequently, HEPOS is useful to a wide range of bodies, like Public Services and Organisations, Surveying Engineers and in general professionals dealing with geoinformation, private-consulting engineers and project constructors, academic and research institutions, etc.    

HEPOS consists of a network of 98 permanent satellite reference stations and a Control Centre, located in the facilities of KTIMATOLOGIO S.A.
The Control Centre processes data from the reference stations and sends to the users the data needed for the exact positioning of a location.
The system’s users can receive data either in real time or later on through the HEPOS website.

HEPOS SERVICES
To avail oneself of the HEPOS Services, it is a prerequisite to register in the system; the registration fee is € 120 per license and is only paid once.
